2023

video recap

Friday, day one. oG Downhill.

Properly named OG In the spirit of how it used to be back in the early 90’s, we were stoked to bring back a head to head race through gates down the original trail where it all began on Suntanner. It was a beautiful sunny day as long time Stratton locals Trish Byrnes and Jason Ford christened the event by forerunning the course. Many hugs and smiling faces as far as the eye could see. What a great start to the Homesick Weekend!!!

Trish Byrnes

“ It is easy to talk about reunions and getting the band back together, but to actually pull it off and get people to put down their phones and fly across the country and show up in person is a whole other feat. An enormous soul filled thank you goes out to East Street Archives”

saturday, day two. powers retro pipe.

We did what we set out to do and that was to bring back the pipe in the location where it used to be all those years ago. Doug Byrnes would’ve been proud. We can’t tell you how much being there reminded me of what it was like in the 90s. Cope was on the mic, the crowd was wild, and the weather was in typical New England fashion. The day started off with calm weather and soon began dumping snow all afternoon. The riders and the crowd were stoked the whole time! A few of those riders were Ross Powers, Jason Ford, Noah Brandon, Zeb Powell, Shaun White, Scotty Lago, Lane Knaack, Luke Wynen, Keir Dillon, and Lucas Magoon.

Todd Richards

“ Having the halfpipe in the original location and seeing all the familiar faces that had a hand in making the scene so special on the East Coast in attendance, as well as the next generation of East Coast rippers was incredible. Just so damn fun. This event holds my personal benchmark for good vibes now. Bravo to East Street Archives”

Sunday, day three. zebulon rail jam.

Nestled on Byrnside right above the Powers Pipe is where the venue was set. Stratton Mountain School grad, XGames Medalist and snowboarding superstar Zeb Powell unveiled a custom feature designed and built for him by Lane Knaack, the renowned terrain park architect who grew up riding Stratton. The day started off overcast and so windy that only one lift was operational. The weather broke and the sun came back out during the contest. Everyone had a blast, especially father and daughter winners Myles and Veda Hallon.

Zeb Powell

“When they came to me with the idea of doing my own rail jam event,  I said these guys have the rad ideas,  and I am all about it. I spent the whole week riding and having a fun time with the whole community that turned up”
